NEW TO DANCE LEVEL CLASSES

Pre Schoolers –Creative Movement - 3-5 yrs. old. Beginners to dance. A 45 minute class.  This fun and exciting class inspires creativity, teaches coordination, musicality, and the fundamentals of ballet. Students will develop coordination, strength, dance technique, rhythm, and body awareness in a caring, nurturing environment. This class is an excellent way for children to gain self-confidence, listening and learning skills and a sense of accomplishment.

Class Attire: Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes.

 

BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

 LEVEL I  BALLET/TAP COMBO - (5-6 yrs old) Approx -Kindergarten - 1st graders –  1/2 hour ballet & 1/2 hour tap. Class Attire: Lt. Blue Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black flat tap shoes.

LEVEL I/II BALLET/LYRICAL - (5-8 yrs old) Approx -Kindergarten-3rd graders. 30 mins  ballet & 30 mins Lyrical. This class is for the beginner/beginner-intermediate student who is interested in a mixture of ballet and jazz technique in order to execute a more fluid, interpretive and expressive form of dance. Ballet experience is required before entering this class.Class Attire:  Black Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes.

LEVEL I/II JAZZ  - (5-8 yrs old) Approx -Kindergarten-3rd graders. Do you love to move to fast-paced music? What about making up your own moves as you go along? If so, jazz dance might be just the thing for you. Jazz dance is fast and fun. It uses upbeat music with kicks, leaps and turns to interpret traditional and not-so-traditional movements. Class Attire: Any color leotard, tan tights, tan slip on jazz shoes.

LEVEL II BALLET/TAP COMBO - (6-8 yrs old) Approx -1st-3rd graders  – This class is for beginner/intermediate students
½ hour ballet and ½ hour tap. Class Attire: Royal Blue leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black flat tap shoes.

ACROBATICS - (6-9yrs old )This class is for students wanting to learn acrobatic technique along with strength and flexibility exercises. Acrobatic training teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all, discipline and concentration. The high degree of discipline and concentration required for acrobatics carries over too many aspects of a student’s life, including academics and other athletic performance. Class Attire: Any color leotard, footless tan tights.

LEVEL II HIP HOP - (5-8 yrs old) Approx -Kindergarten -3rd graders - This class is for students beginner/intermediate wanting to learn a more funky and contemporary style of movement. Class Attire: comfy baggy clothes able to move in, black hip hop sneakers.

LEVEL II/III MUSICAL THEATRE - (7-10 yrs old) Approx -2nd-5th graders - This class is for beginner/intermediate students wanting to dance and act while experiencing Broadway/movie style choreography. While learning the history behind what they learn. Class Attire: black leotard, tan tights, tan jazz shoes, dance shorts. 

INTERMEDIATE & INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED CLASSES

LEVEL II/III MUSICAL THEATRE - (7-10yrs old) Approx -2nd-5th graders.  This class is for intermediate students wanting to dance and act while experiencing Broadway/movie style choreography. While learning the history behind what they learn. Class Attire: Black leotard, tan tights, tan jazz shoes, dance shorts.

LEVEL III CONTEMPORARY (LYRICAL) - (7-10 yrs old) Approx 2rd-5th graders -This class is for the intermediate student who is interested in a mixture of ballet and jazz technique in order to execute a more fluid, interpretive and expressive form of dance. Ballet experience is required before entering this class. Class Attire:  Black leotard, tan stirrup tights, tan pirouette shoes.

LEVEL III BALLET – (7-10 yrs old) Approx.- 2nd-5th graders. This is an intermediate class. Students will learn ballet technique in a classically disciplined and structured curriculum. Class Attire: Red leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes.

LEVEL III HIP HOP  (7-10 yrs old) Approx 2nd-5th graders. This class is intermediate, it has a high level of playfulness and exploration through "move-meant" concepts and techniques. Moves that hold meaning and value, informed by personal, social, cultural, and environmental experiences. Hip-hop dance features multiple rhythms and movements. It is percussive, improvisational, where it engages the full body - neck, shoulders, arms, torso, rear end, hips, legs, knees, and feet. It is fluid, and the feet are flexed, not pointed. Class Attire: comfy baggy clothes able to move in, black hip hop sneakers.

LEVEL III TAP – (7-10 yrs old) Approx -2nd-5th graders – This class is for intermediate students will work on execution of steps and combinations of steps in a structured, fun, upbeat way. Class Attire: Black leotard, tan tights, black flat hard sole tap shoes.

LEVEL III JAZZ - (7-10 yrs old) Approx -2nd-5th graders. This class is for intermediate students with a dance background who are wanting to excel and work on strength, flexibility, stamina, professionalism and to expand their skills. Ballet experience is a must. Class Attire: Any color leotard, tan tights, dance shorts, tan jazz shoes.

LEVEL IV BALLET – (9-12 yrs old) Approx -4th-8th graders. This class is for Intermediate/Advanced Students with experience wanting to solidify ballet technique and terminology in a classically disciplined and structured curriculum. Class Attire: Purple Leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes.

LEVEL IV CONTEMPORARY (LYRICAL) – (9-12 yrs old) Approx -4th-8th graders. This class is for the intermediate/advanced student who is interested in a mixture of ballet and jazz technique in order to execute a more fluid, interpretive and expressive form of dance. Ballet experience is a must before entering this class. Class Attire: Black leotard, tan stirrup tights, tan pirouette shoes.

TECHNIQUE  - INVITE ONLY - This 1.5 hour class is an essential class for students who want to see results and make constant progress in their dance training.  This class offers an opportunity for students to add 1.5 hours of focus on developing increased flexibility, strength, dance technique and stamina every week. Students will build muscle, obtain balance, and gain more abilities to become stronger dancers. This class does not focus on choreography and does not rehearse a performance piece for recital. Class Attire: Black Leotard, tan tights, pink ballet shoes/pirouettes.

 

ADVANCED CLASSES

LEVEL V/VI TAP -  (13+) Approx -8th-12th graders. - advanced students working on execution of steps and combinations of steps in a structured, fun, upbeat way.  Class Attire:  Black leotard, tan tights, black flat hard sole tap shoes.

LEVEL V/VI JAZZ - (13+) Approx -8th-12th graders. This class is for advanced students with a dance background who are wanting to excel and work on strength, flexibility, stamina, professionalism and to expand their skills. A teacher evaluation will be done for new students joining this class.

 POINTE - (13+) Approx -8th-12th graders.  By instructor’s approval - Pointe technique is the part of strong classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. Class Attire: Black Leotard, pink tights, pointe shoes.
