Dance Delaware Studios was founded with a simple belief: dance has the power to change a child's life.

Founded by professional dancer, choreographer, and educator Valerie Smith, Dance Delaware was created to be more than a place where children come to learn steps. It was created to be a place where dancers are known by name, encouraged as individuals, challenged to reach their potential, and welcomed as part of a family.

Drawing from decades of experience in the professional entertainment industry and dance education, Valerie built Dance Delaware around the lessons that shaped her own journey—the importance of exceptional training, inspiring teachers, meaningful mentorship, hard work, perseverance, and having someone who truly believes in you.

Today, those values remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our dancers receive quality training from passionate educators who understand that no two children—and no two dance journeys—are exactly alike. From a child's very first dance class to advanced training, performances, competitions, and beyond, we provide opportunities for every dancer to discover where their own journey can take them.

Some will dance simply because it brings them joy.

Some will discover a love for performing.

Some will become competitors, leaders, teachers, or professional performers.

And some will take the confidence, discipline, friendships, memories, and life lessons they gained through dance into an entirely different dream.
